The college of Continuing Education, designated as one of the ‘excellent colleges by both the Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipal Committee Education, was formerly known as College of Adult Education and was renamed in 2003. After readjustment and a merger in 2004, the College has two major responsibilities: managing continuing education on behalf of the university; The college now consists of east teaching area, west teaching area and Liu Li Jing teaching area complementing each other. The college has been constantly developing adult education, and more than 20 subjects have been developed in succession which enable the successful implementation of different teaching systems, diversified teaching levels and different ways of learning. The College now has more than 10,000 students. The College has devoted major efforts to developing non-degree education and training programs. The college has developed many training programs including architect training, IBM training, senior exchange program training, home service and so forth. The college even has started joint educational programs with international partners.At the same time, the college incubates start-ups. Start-ups of returning overseas students of BJUT registered in Zhong Guancun Science Park, Beijing Intellectual Property training base are incubating at the College.
